Daniel is already playing a clean roll with his right hand at about 700 strokes a minute, and his left is coming along too. I haven't had as much time to practice, with a full time job, but am getting around 600 a minute from my left hand (I play left handed), and will start with my right hand soon.

I received my DVD today, I had long heard of the 'drum gods' doing one handed rolls and recently read an article with Ian Paice of Deep Purple where he commented that he did not demonstrate the method of executing the one handed roll because he wanted to keep some things to himself; so I have always wanted to be able to perform this most impressive technique and I have to say your method for teaching the one handed roll is fantastically effective.

I was one of the two drummers in the drum battle with Jared the first time he played the one handed roll for an audience. He told me before hand that he had a trick up his sleeve, but I had no idea.

When he transitioned from a two handed roll to a one handed roll, it took me a few seconds to realize what was even happening. I practically fell off my drum throne trying to get up to see what was going on.

I have since got the practice material and have started to learn to play the method. I'm really impressed at how well everything is explained in the video, and the slow motion clips have definitely helped.
